The past has happened and cannot be changed;
it can only be accepted.
Life is much simpler and much happier when you always look at what you can do,
not what you can’t do

Couples Counselling
Warwickshire Therapy’s Couples counselling is slightly different to individual therapy because individual therapy focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client, however, couples therapy focuses on the relationship between the couple with me as the therapist very much on the outside.
COUPLES DO NOT NEED TO BE MARRIED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE IN SESSIONS.
Sessions are used to discuss not only current issues but issues that occur repeatedly because often the underlying pattern is missed. During sessions individuals are encouraged to listen to understand instead of listening to respond. ( this is a skill and not something that is always easy)
Homework may be set which encourages you to re-connect with each other, The key to a good relationship lies in good communication, and that is something that we often forget.
During therapy we will look at both couple goals and individual goals so that you are able to build a relationship that you are both happy with.
The therapy I offer for couples focuses on communication between the couple. Learning how to get both individual and couples needs met. I see couples who wish to
*learn to communicate better,
*couples following an affair,
*couples in conflict,
*couples who have decided to separate but wish to do so in a calm respectful manor.
* Couples who wish to have premarital therapy in order to iron out issues before getting married.
You don’t need to wait until you are in crisis before seeking help. You may wish to learn to communicate better, or even argue better. We are never going to agree 100% of the time so learning to be respectful during a disagreement is a key to resolving conflict. Difference and sameness are both needed to make the relationship work.
If you would like to find out more please email me with your questions, alternatively please give me a call and we can find out if I’m the right counsellor for you. Either email or telephone communication (this is your choice), following an initial discussion regarding availability we provisionally book a session. I will then send you an assessment form, contract and payment details, sessions are confirmed upon recipient of payment. Should you wish to cancel your session a full refund will be offered if done prior to the 48 hour cancellation policy. I am more than happy to answer any questions you many have.
Creative Bereavement Workshops
Creative Bereavement Workshops for 7-11-year olds, 11-14-year olds and 14-18 year olds are facilitated by three professionals
Our Creative workshop will be looking at grief from the perspective of children and young people. Children and young people are taken through a series of creative activities enabling and encouraging them to look at their feelings and think about their lost one within a safe space. There is the facility for 1 to 1 counselling during the workshop with a Warwickshire Therapist. A series of tools will be available to take home, including a grief journal, grief worksheets, Good bye letters, remembrance letters
Workshops have been written and will be delivered using a mixed model of grief and encouraging continuing bonds. At the centre the core belief that grieving process is different for everybody, which is why this workshop has been designed to include time for 1 to 1 counselling should the child request this.
Workshops are tailored to specific age ranges to enable the children and young people to engage with peers their own age, allowing them to be real without pressure to behave in certain ways.
There will be a chance for the children and young people to share as much or as little with the parents as they feel able of doing.
Creative Bereavement workshops for Parents and children.
Parents/Carers are encouraged to stay on site where there is opportunity to meet other parents/carers and engage in a similar workshop. This workshop follows the same pattern as the children’s workshop with parents/ carers encouraged to complete the same worksheets and activities as children, in a separate room and then come together to share their experience of grief, bring children and adults together. There will be a counsellor on hand to offer 1 to 1 counselling should either parents and children require the support. This work shop aims to provide a common way for the children and parents/carers to communicate their grief on a level that the children are able to engage with.
